Restoration required the custom fabrication of a replacement leadpipe using specific wall thicknesses to match the original acoustic impedance. Silver-brazing at high temperatures ensures a molecular bond that withstands the mechanical stress of vibrational frequencies. We utilize precision mandrels and alignment jigs to ensure the bore remains concentric. During this phase, we also address internal calcification-mineral deposits that act like barnacles on a hull, disrupting laminar flow and inducing turbulence within the tubing of the baritone.
